I.E.P SUMMER PROGRAM
This is the 2nd to last day that I've been here at my school, MCLA. I am so glad that it is almost over because I miss everyone back in Boston and just Boston in general. This experience has been very interesting I must say. College is a whole nother experience and world than I would have though. Even though, there are some similarities between high school and college, similiarities like you have to hold your own in order to succeed and pass. Basically MCLA is in the Berkshires which is located in North Adams, a very small rurual type town where everyone is mostly Cauncausin, but as nice as can be. First coming here I was shocked at how many trees and moutains I saw. My mother was in shock how much wildlife is around here, now coming from a big city like Boston, you can understand why I was so scared because like seriously when do you see moutains up close and millions of trees? Overall, MCLA is a small school with a good size campus, everyone knows everyone. Teachers seem fun and nice. The dorms are nice. Theres a lot of campus activities and classes you can choose from. Only downside of this is that North Adams is like a dead town, there are no clubs or city-like things down here. Its very quiet and slow, reminds me of Down South almost (even though I never been lol), there is like a lot of western type buildings and everything is spread out. I mean I like it so far but the fact that this town has no nightlife is a killer. North Adams is 3-4 hours from Boston, 3 hours from NYC, 45 minutes from Upstate NY (Albany) and Vermont and 30 minutes from Amherst. And me I love partying and going out, so if I do stay here the full 4 years I will be traveling back and fourth between Amherst, NYC, and Boston to shop and party because North Adams has nothing to do. If I don't stay here the full 4 years I hope I get into NYU or USC or even Miami (crossing fingers =]).
