College life: My perspective so far

College so far for me has been really cool, even though I don't participate as much in some college events or activities, overall, college has been a great new experience. It has been pretty hard because I always expect to go home each and every weekend and when I do sometimes I don't want to come back. And this has been pretty hard because some of my classes are being affected because of my absences. For me, college is my key to a better successful future in 5-6 years from now, that's really the only real reason I decided to go to college was so that I'd be positive my future would be good and also because I'm young now, 4 years isn't that hard to sacrifice for a degree and a secure future as my Aunt Raynya said as well. So I'm a freshman by the way and this year has been pretty easy but challenging because I'm away from home, and living on campus 3 hours from my native city of Boston. I struggle a lot with the notion of whether I should stay here for the 4 years or if I should transfer to a school closer like Boston, NYC or some where else. I have a steady boyfriend and its been very hard being away from him for such a long period of time and sometimes commuting back and fourth to each other can be a challenge but we always seem to pull through on that. If I could find a good school where I can live on campus and that has my major and my minor then I'll be in luck but until then I'm stuck in North Adams at MCLA and don't get me wrong its not a bad school, the classes and teachers are great, the only bad side is that this town is dead, has no night life or fun events to do and its 3 hours from Boston in the middle of mountains and lots of trees. But other than that the school is great, the location just isn't working for me as much.
