How to spot fake products

Each year hundreds of thousands of online users purchase products and merchandise off-line. But, have you ever thought about whether those items you are purchasing online are actually authentic? Over 70% of counterfeit products sold around the world come from China. We all probably have seen some products that are fake, and more than likely they came from China and other regions. Each year over $70 billion dollars are lost due to this counterfeit market.

I think its really important as sociable shoppers to understand the risks of purchasing products offline. I understand everyone wants a bargain,  but we also deserve good quality and trustworthy sources. Buying counterfeit medications, clothing, makeup, and even hair products can cost you your life! There have been instances of people using fake shampoo and their hair falling completely out, and people ingesting fake medications with serious and even deadly implications. So say now to the fake, and yes to the real. Not saying all website sell fake producta but a good handful of them like websites such as, Amazon.com,  eBay.com, and other website have been known to have vendors selling fake products.

Here are some tips to helping you shop wisely and more aware while online.

1. Shop from websites you can trust! If you are unsure once you are on the website and it looks unprofessional, more than likely the business is probably shady and so are the products.

2. Research websites and companies you are unsure of. Pay attention to customer reviews, whether positive or negative, more than likely if a company is selling knock offs, customers will comment on themdoing so,  and plus it never hurts to do a little research before making a purchase.

3. Look out for fake review. More than likely if they keep repeating similiar comments or they seem wierd when you read them, these are fakeand the website might be as well as their products. Use your instict, and think before you buy!

4. Inspect the fabric, and stitching of the merchandise or product. More than likely if the stitchinglooks bad or the fabric looks cheap, then it is likely fake. Most times its very hard to tell the differences between certain merchandises, but also calling their customer service line and asking questions about their products is always a safe way to go.
